The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District One began a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study in January 2014 to evaluate alternatives to widen US 92 (New Tampa Highway) from two to four lanes between County Line Road and Wabash  Avenue in Polk County. This study also includes considerations for pedestrian, bicycle, and transit improvements along the roadway.

On November 27, 2017 the Florida Department of Transporation Office of Environmental Management (OEM) granted Location and Design Concept Acceptance for the US 92 PD&E study. This project is now eligible to move to the next phase of development.

Please see the December 2017 LDCA Newsletter for more information.
